The 2026 Season Launch Mallorca: What’s New and What’s Back

The “winter sleep” is officially over. As Mallorca moves into the Spring 2026 season, a wave of major infrastructure projects and hotel debuts are finally coming online. For both residents and investors, the island’s landscape has never looked more positive.

New & Notable Hotels

Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra (Opening July 2026) The heavy hitter of the year. Set on a dramatic clifftop peninsula near Puerto Portals, this is Mandarin Oriental’s first entry into Mallorca. With sea-view casitas, a massive wellness center, and a serious dining lineup—including the much-anticipated arrival of Leña by Dani García—it’s a huge vote of confidence in the Calvià coast.

Aubamar Palma Resort (Opening March 12, 2026) Playa de Palma’s biggest 2026 story. Following a top-to-bottom expansion, Aubamar now spans three buildings with nearly 500 rooms and the area’s highest rooftop bar. It’s a sophisticated resort that signals the continued upscaling of the bay.

Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa (Reopening March 11, 2026) After its 2025 debut, this adults-only property is back for its first full spring season. It perfectly blends the “beach club” social life with a boutique hotel vibe, making it a key spot for the western coastline’s social scene.

Nightlife & Social Reopenings

Social Club Mallorca (Grand Reopening Summer 2026) The island’s nightlife is entering a bold new chapter. Social Club is moving to a brand-new venue located within the Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá on the Paseo Marítimo. Opening this summer, the new space is designed as a refined boutique club, focusing on intimacy and high-end mixology.

The Lobster Club (Reopening May 14, 2026) A Mediterranean staple. Operated by the Cappuccino Group, the Lobster Club remains the go-to for long lunches and sunset drinks in Puerto Portals.

The Jazz Lounge Café While the original Jazz Lounge in La Lonja remains a late-night favorite, the brand-new Jazz Lounge Café near Plaza España is the talk of the city this spring. It brings live jazz into a daytime setting, specifically with its Saturday Jazz Brunch.

Dining & Cultural Revivals

Lamucca del Mar & Marui Sushi Bar Last year’s breakout stars are entering their first full summer season. Lamucca del Mar has quickly become the social heart of the Molinar waterfront, while Marui Sushi Bar in Santa Catalina continues to stand out for its high-end Japanese menu and distinct aesthetic.

Hostal Terminus: A Modernist Rebirth One of Palma’s most symbolic landmarks is back. Built in 1913 near Plaza España, the Hostal Terminus has undergone a €3.7M restoration. Completed in late 2025, it now houses a public café and a cultural hall, preserving one of the city’s most iconic façades.

Frontón Sineu: Sports & Heritage Originally opened in 1949, this historic pelota court was brought back to life in 2022 and continues to grow. In 2025, it launched the Calet i Boiret tournament, solidifying its place as a cultural hub in the center of the island.

Cultural Revivals & City Developments

Palma’s Waterfront Revolution: After years of construction, the Paseo Marítimo is officially open for its first full season. The transformation is massive: 3.5km of traffic lanes have been replaced by a green, pedestrian boulevard that finally links the historic center directly to the water.
